Lu Xun’s birthday anniversary falls on September 25. The same day 122 years ago, Lu Xun was born in a bedroom of his home located in the downtown Shaoxing. In order to commemorate Lu Xun, Lu Xun Native Place (the first phase project of a tourist attraction) will open to public  unofficially on September 25 and will be open to visitors officially on October 1.  

The central part of Lu Xun’s native place presents plenty of historical and cultural information concerning Lu Xun and the past he depicted in his works. Lu Xun’s former residence, Lu Xun’s ancestral residence and Sanwei Study are well known historical sites which are under the protection of the state government. What is more, Xianheng restaurant, Taziqiao Bridge, Tugu clan hall, Changqing temple and Hengji pawnshop, which are all depicted in Lu Xun’s stories, will appear in the native place just the same as Lu Xun tells in his works.  

Yesterday, workers were seen working busily in the key protection area. Granite tiles were being laid in the small square at the eastern entrance, a screening wall was being installed at the entrance and exhibits were being laid out. Workers vowed they would work extra time to complete the project in its proper quality.
