US$800,000 in total investment is needed to expand the production up to 100,000 better quality chickens per annum with advanced breeding techniques and to downstream process them so as to have a larger share of the market. The registered capital will be US$600,000. On completion, the project will generate each year million yuan in sales and 1.5 million yuan in profits.

Brief of the Initiator

More than twenty collective and individual members affiliated to the Association produce over 50,000 free range chickens each year. The lush mountain forests, bamboo groves and red strawberry forests are fully taken advantage of in raising the tender poultry for top restaurants in Shanghai, for which the farmers have registered the trademark, “Shaoxing Fragrant Forest Chicken”.
