| The gigantic trading marketplace in the China Light and
Textile Industries City is composed of the West Marketplace,
Qianqing Textile Raw Material Marketplace, North zone six,
north zone seven, north zone eight, Jingpin marketplace, Tianhui
City and Garment Marketplace, Household Electric Appliance
Market, Textile Machinery Marketplace, Foodstuff Marketplace.
Of these marketplaces, the north zones 6, 7, 8, Jingpin marketplace,
and Tianhui Marketplace are for fabric transactions. The rest
of the marketplaces sell raw materials, textile machinery
and light industry products.
Approved by Shaoxing County People¨s Government, the gigantic
marketplace is a joint venture invested by Shaoxing County
Foodstuff Company, Zhejiang Foodstuff and Oil Storage &
Transportation Company, Shaoxing County Real Estate Development
Company and Shaoxing Rainbow Industries Company. The project
started in April 1993 and came into operation in September
1994. The total investment for marketplace construction was
more than 100 million yuan.
The third floor in the west zone was for retails as well
as an experimental marketplace where laid-off workers from
Shaoxing County try their hands at business. Since the inception
of the experimental business zone for laid-off workers, it
has been a success. In July 2000, an open business steering
committee was organized to supervise the management work of
the marketplace. The committee was headed by the company CEO
and the Union commissioners as well as ordinary employees.
Qianqing Textile Raw Materials Marketplace
The largest market of its kind in China, Qianqing Textile
Raw Materials Marketplace was founded in 1993 and is a key
regional marketplace in Zhejiang Province. The business volume
at the market amounted to 11.315 billion yuan. It is now the
largest marketplace in China where raw materials for textile
industry change hands. It is the third largest market of any
kinds in China.
Eider Down Market in Qixian Town
Eider Down Marketplace of China Light & Textile Industries
City is a trading place sponsored by Qixian Town. The market
is located north of Jiahui Bridge of Shaoxing Highway, Qixian
Township. In August 1998, the town¨s property management company
for collectively owned companies collaborated with 10 investors
and pooled 12.5 million and founded the eider down marketplace.
This marketplace was opened to business by the end of that
year. The marketplace can be visited at www.down-market.com,
which is operated by Qianxian business and trade website.
The marketplace radiates to most provinces and municipalities
across the country. At present, over 40 companies and manufacturers
are stationed in the marketplace. More service facilities
will be added to the marketplace and more efforts will be
made to open up more business channels so as to turn the marketplace
into a center of industrial goods and consumer goods where
manufacturers and traders meet and trade.
Garment Marketplace by Zhejiang Jinggong Group
The Garment Marketplace of the China Light & Textile
Industries City, invested by Zhejiang Jinggong Group, started
business on October 18 1995. The whole project was composed
of three phases. The first phase was the garment market place,
and the second phase is a marketplace for shoes and leather
products. The third phase is to build a commodity city called
Huaneng Marketplace. By the end of 2000, the Zhejiang Jinggong
Group had invested over 90 million yuan into the garment marketplace.
The major product lines of the marketplace are garments,
shoes, woolen sweaters, garments for children, and household
daily necessities. The sales revenue in 2000 amounted to 135
million yuan. At present, the marketplace is the largest marketplace
with the most complete variety of products in Shaoxing region.
A management committee composed of people from the developer,
the government industrial and commercial administration and
the government taxation bureau supervises the daily operations
of the marketplace. As a result of the inspection of the Zhejiang
Administration of Industry and Commerce, the marketplace was
awarded the title of a two-star model business marketplace
and the shoes and leather marketplace was rated as the three-star
model business marketplace in June 1999.
Non-staple Foodstuff Marketplace
The Non-staple Foodstuff Marketplace of the China Textile
Marketplace was located in Yuji Road, Keqiao and was founded
in 1997 with the total investment of 15 million yuan. The
marketplace has 430 sales stalls where over 130 traders do
their business by selling cigarettes, wine, foodstuff and
edible oils, and roasted seeds and nuts. In 2000, the sale
revenue amounted to 100 million yuan.
The marketplace has a complete range of management mechanisms
and a complete range of service facilities. A management committee
headed by general manager operates the market. The government
branch bureau of industry and commerce stationed at the China
Light & Textile Industries City Marketplace supervises
the daily business operations of the non-staple foodstuff
marketplace. Traders at the market all have signed duty agreements
with the branch bureau and under the agreement they are not
to sell sham products. The branch bureau provides traders
with training courses so as to give them proper education
and make sure their business transactions are all standardized
and regularized. |
