| The transport service market is a key supporting facility
of the China Light & Textile Industries City. By the end
of 2000, 120 transport services operated 98 road lines for the
goods traded at the City. There were also 8 railway freight
transport services and 3 air cargo transport agencies. The transport
market paid taxes of 22 million yuan one year.
In October 2000, the newly built untied transport service
center located in the northern part of the City came into
operation. The county government readjusted the functions
of the Keqiao freight station and the measure greatly improved
the transport services for the whole marketplace.
In August 2000, a management office under the Shaoxing County
China Transport Management Committee was set up. This office
meant that the transport service market for the whole marketplace
was no longer operated by the government transport bureau.
The transport service now is operated by an office of several
departments and efforts are combined to enforce rules and
regulations there.
Transport Service Rights Auctioned
In March 2000, the rights for 24 routes operations such as
to Pingxiang, Hunan Province expired and were up for auction.
An auction was held and all qualified enterprises and individuals
participate were allowed to bid for the 24 routes. After an
open, fair, and just auction, thirty-six business firms acquired
the rights to operate the 24 routes. This auction brought
in 820,000 as fees for the rights to use the market facilities
and 23.10 million as deposits for contract risks.
The united transport service market located in the northern
part of the City represented an investment of 97 million yuan.
The construction started in July 1999 and the market officially
came into operation in October 2000. This freight service
center was co-invested by the county¨s food products company
and transport bureau. The center occupies a floor area of
20,000 square meters and a parking lot of 20,000 square meters.
The market has such facilities and equipments as a video monitoring
system, catering, accommodation, and offices. |
