Before August 23, 2001, Shaoxing County had 20 organic towns under its jurisdiction: Keqiao, Qianqing, Xialu, Yangxunqiao, Huashe, Hutang, Qixian, Ma¡¯an, Anchang, Sunduan, Fusheng, Taoyan, Lizhu, Fuquan, Lanting, Pingshui, Pingjiang, Wangtan, Jidong, and Jijiang.
Shaoxing¡¯s administrative divisions after August 23, 2001 are as follows:
On January 13, 2001, the State Council¡¯s Approval on Agreeing Zhejiang Province to Adjust Part of Shaoxing Municipality¡¯s Administrative Division and the Relocation of Shaoxing County Government Seat (Guo Han ¡¾2001¡¿ 5) was received. On March 23, the opening ceremony was held to mark the relocation of the County government to Keqiao. On August 23, with the approval of the provincial government, part of the administrative divisions in Shaoxing County was adjusted as follows:
First, Keqiao Township was cancelled and the previous township was divided into two subdistricts. Second, Huashe Township was cancelled and replaced by Huashe Subdistrict. Third, Hutang Township was cancelled, and the previous Hutang region became Hutang Subdistrict. Fourth, Pingshui and Pingjiang townships were cancelled and merged into a new Pingshui Township. Fifth, Wangtan and Jijiang townships were cancelled, parts of the two towns were integrated into a new town called Wangtan Township including nine administrative villages which are Qingtan, Xinhua, Yuelian, Tong¡¯ao, Nan¡¯an, Liu¡¯an, Qingfeng, Yueming, and Xinlian). Sixth, Jidong Township was cancelled, its administrative region and part of Jijiang Township were merged into a new Jidong Township. The ten administrative villages from Jijiang Township were Chetou, Youyi, Shangfeng, Fuxing, Dashan, Xiongying, Yangzhong, Yaoguo, Fujia¡¯ao, and Taojiachang. The rest of the administrative divisions in the county remained unchanged.
After the adjustment of the administrative divisions, there are now fifteen townships and four subdistricts under the county government. They are Qianqing Township, Xianlu Township, Yangxunqiao Township, Qixian Township, Ma¡¯an Township, Anchang Township, Sunduan Township, Fusheng Township, Toa¡¯yan Township, Lizhu Township, Fuquan Township, Lanting Township, Pingshui Township, Wangtan Township, Jidong Township and Keqiao Subdistrict, Keyan Subdistrict, Huashe Subdistrict, and Hutang Subdistrict. |
